This BBQ restaurant in Sulphur Springs, Texas, is not a chain. Big Smith’s started in 1989 and has the best of many worlds – barbeque, sausage, catfish, and fried delicacies. It’s the pure definition of hole-in-the-wall independently-owned and concepted restaurant which one loves to discover in smaller towns in Texas.
The owner started in a food truck in 2011, then semi-perm trailer, and now a brick-and-mortar. The barbecue is the type of 2.0 Texas ‘que that came about during that time with heavy bark and savory sausage. It's going to run you a little more, but it's worth the extra bucks for these meat treats that melt in your mouth.
